Suzuki GSX concept revealed

Suzuki has shown this single image of a concept bike it will unveil at the Tokyo show next month which may well be the preview of an all-new GSX-R1000 to be unveiled later this year.

Unfortunately the only image available is this very low resolution shot. We are hoping to source something better shortly. The Tokyo show will run from October 30 to November 8.

Suzuki is giving away no details as to what the model – dubbed ‘concept GSX’ is all about but MCN knows there is an all-new GSX-R1000 for 2016 although recent patents suggest Suzuki could well be putting a 300bhp turbocharged hybrid bike into production too.

MCN’s Japanese sources have told us the new production specification GSX-R1000 will be revealed at the Milan show in late November and will be getting a host of new technology aimed at catching up with rivals in the superbike class.

All Suzuki is officially saying is on the press release stating: “concept GSX: a concept object that encapsulates the potential of the GSX series.

“Suzuki’s powerful, rider-friendly inline-four engines deliver an outstanding combination of fuel economy and endurance. Their technologies are reflected in numerous GSX-series models including the GSX-R1000, the Hayabusa, and the GSX-S1000.

“The concept GSX symbolizes the high-performance bikes that bear the GSX name. It gives form to Suzuki’s inline-four sportbike-making spirit and evokes a cocoon from which the company’s future sportbike models will be born.”
