Tasty Chinese 650 twin is just £5k

This is CF Moto’s new 650MT, their third bike to be based on a 650cc engine. The previous two – the 650i and 650TR – were naked and touring bikes, while the new MT is aimed squarely at the adventure market.

Built around a new tubular steel frame and swingarm, the MT uses a water-cooled 650cc parallel-twin – which is Euro4 compliant, thanks to a new Bosch EFI system that CF Moto say also gives it a more responsive power delivery. It’s claimed to push out a peak of 71bhp at 8750rpm.

The seat height is adjustable between 820mm and 840mm and the front and rear suspension are also fully adjustable. An 18-litre tank will give it decent range from what should be a usefully frugal engine.

Further in-keeping with Euro4 standards, the MT also has ABS brakes and auto-on LED lights. There are a few other premium touches, too, such as economy and sport riding modes, a USB port and an all-LCD dash that includes a gear indicator.

Chinese design has come a long way, even if much of it is ‘inspired’ by other bikes, and this new MT looks bang on-trend. UK pricing has yet to be confirmed, but we’d expect it to match the 650TR’s cost at around £5199.
