Dainese Managua trainers, £99
Miles covered/ time: 2000/three years
What's good? They look fantastic, and they’re more protective than a normal pair of trainers. I wear them off the bike as much as on, which is the reason they look so shabby.
They are really comfortable, on and off the bike, but when riding they do give a little added feeling of security – there’s even a little gearshift pad. There's also additional protection at the ankles, like a mini race boot.
What's not? The laces are all frayed which is really annoying, so I need to replace the laces (which are also a nightmare to keep clean as they’re white). They are on the expensive side but they do say Dainese on the side so it's to be expected.
