What’s good about the Dane Varde Gore-Tex gloves?
One of the biggest frustrations of British autumn is having don thicker gloves to cope with the lower temperatures, but these gloves make that transition a bit easier. They’re warmer than a waterproof summer glove, still keep out the rain and are still thin enough to offer good feel for the controls. Some may see the lack of hard armour on the knuckles as a downside, but the foam padding means they’re very comfortable. They work well with Dane’s riding jackets and have a pullcord at the top of the cuff to keep out draughts.
And what’s not?
The lack of a rubber visor wipe is a real downside. The suede-like panel on the left forefinger does the job for one or two wipes, but then saturates and then acts more as smearer than clearer. Cheaper gloves than this come with a rubber-type visor wipe that does the job properly.
