Alpinestars 365 Gore-Tex gloves £169.99

Tester: Michael Neeves

Time used: Seven months/2000 miles

What’s good? These are the latest-generation 365 Gore-Tex leather gloves, which I’ve used on road tests, new bike launches, a riding holiday, commuting and even on track. Like the old 365s they replace, which I’ve been wearing for the past seven years, these gloves do it all and I wear them most of the time. They keep my hands warm in the cold weather and they’re waterproof, but thin enough to let you feel the controls, even on a sportsbike on track. My old 365s were built to last and I only retired them so I could try this new version. These stylish new gloves are just as well stitched together.

What’s not? Unlike my previous 365s these new gloves have taken a long time to bed in and the leather was too stiff at first. But a few months of wear and they’re now supple and a joy to wear.
