Helmet review: Shoei Hornet DS

Shoei Hornet DS, £370
Miles covered/time:
4000/two months

What’s good? Finally I’ve found a helmet that doesn’t leave me with a painful pressure sore on my forehead.

Being in a motocross style it has buckets of space in front of my face which makes it less claustrophobic to wear.

A clip-in draft excluder (included) works perfectly and the massive aperture means visibility is fantastic even in the peripheries, so no more craning to perform those lifesavers.

What’s not? The peak can cause a little buffeting in really strong crosswinds, great if you want a neck workout!

And the visor can mist easily if you don’t use the included Pinlock anti fog insert.
