Caberg TourMax Sonic Helmet, £214.99

Time Tested: Two months/800 miles

What's good? Before I started using this helmet, I thought flip down sun visors were stupid. Now I realise they're practical (but till look stupid). It's nice to not have to worry about getting caught out with a dark visor on the way home. There's plenty of room for spectacles once the helmet is on, without my glasses being loose, which is always a fine balance.

What's not? This is my first flip-front lide and it feels heavy. Perhaps there's slightly less it feels heavy. Perhaps there's slightly less padding to make room for the flip mechanism, but I just don't have much confidence in it, especially the chin bar which can be flexed easily. My biggest bug bear is the shape of the visor which offers terrible peripheral vision and turns lifesavers into a full body twist.
