Bering Brannigan leather jacket, £359.99
Time tested: Six months/2000 miles
What’s good? I absolutely adore this jacket. The vintage styling of the leather – 1.5mm cowhide - harks back to the trendy period of the ‘70s (honestly, there was one!) and isn't compromised by large logos or tacky details. The only detailing is the overstitching, which completes the look. But the throwback style is just that, an appearance. Unlike the genuine ‘70s jackets, there’s a full set of CE-approved armour, including a back protector, and the elbow armour can be moved so it covers the joint correctly. There’s also a removable aluminium thermal lining for use on colder days, but this is really a jacket for warmer weather.
What’s not? I don't have a bad word to say about this jacket; it's perfect! But my larger than desired belly means I sometimes struggle to zip it up without holding my breath.
