EDZ Merino wool socks, £19.99
Time tested: 6000 miles/ 5 months
What’s good? Cold feet on a long ride will have you wincing and curling your toes in no time. It’s always worth spending a few extra quid on a comfy pair of socks for winter and these EDZ socks fit the bill perfectly. They are made using merino wool, which is commonly used in athletic gear because it wicks and repels moisture, is super-soft and warmer than standard wool. In turn the socks are thick and cosy; my feet aren’t a sweaty mess after a long ride and the socks smell surprisingly pretty good in comparison to my other bio-hazardous pairs.
What’s not? Not much, these are fairly priced, warm and comfy. I’ve used them throughout winter and they haven’t frayed or let me down once.
