Product Review: SubZero Factor 2 thermal mid layers

SubZero Factor 2 thermal mid layers, top £64.99, trousers £54.99

Time tested: 18,000 miles/ 9 months

What’s good? The Factor 2 thermal mid-layer can be worn on top of SubZero’s skintight base layer or as the initial layer. It’s a snug, tight fit so you won’t be able to get a t-shirt underneath. It is also thicker than the average thermal as it is made from polyester and spandex. The two-piece kit quickly locks in precious warmth. It’s comfortable, super-warm and it’s easy to forget you’re wearing it. The zip-up thick turtle neck and thumb holes are nice touches too.

What’s not? It’s a little pricier than your average set, especially if you go for an additional base layer underneath. But the Factor 2 mid-layer is worth the money on its own, the kit can be worn underneath leathers or textiles, throw a light jumper on top and you’ll feel like a furnace.
