Superbikes represent the pinnacle of motorcycling. They're the most lusted after bikes out there and in 2017 their performance is out of this world - just check out our 2017 superbike shootout.

Benelli's Tornado is one of the most easily recognisable bikes out there, thanks to the huge yellow cooling fans under the tail piece and the slightly buggy face. They're excellent value for money now, with this 5,363 mile example - registered in 2012 - available for less than £6500. If you like three-cylinder engines, Italian bikes and something a little different then look no further.
Just look at it, it's beautiful. Honda's RC45 replaced the RC30 and though many felt it didn't quite hit the sweet spot they're still incredibly sought after machines and great examples of brilliant engineering. This 1994 model has covered 12,000 miles but looks in great nick.
With the 1098 Ducati superbikes were beautiful again, although this Troy Bayliss replica R model might not be to everyone's taste. The 1098R is incredibly close to the bikes raced in WSB and the 1098R was the first road bike fitted with traction control.
If a standard MV Agusta F4 isn't quite enough for you this Veltro is number two of just 99. Carbon fibre, machined aluminium, lightweight Brembo wheels and a beautiful matte black paintjob make this MV pretty special. No, just let me call the bank manager...
