Bike of the day: 1927 Brough Superior 680 OHV

Published: 16 February 2017

Over 130 bikes go under the hammer at the Carole Nash MCN London Motorcycle Show on February 18 as the second Coys auction gets underway. We’ve been through the catalogue and picked our highlights, here’s today’s tempting buy...

Often overshadowed by its bigger brother the SS100 the 680 was no less a ride and although the model gave away some 300cc it was a formidable motorcycle. There have been many Brough restoration projects that have come to the market in recent years, however this 680 has been stored well and remains in generally good solid condition with the structural integrity of the frame intact. A truly great ‘barn find’ from a prestigious collection, offered here for the first time in some 60 years.

 Estimated: £50,000 - £60,000

The auction takes place in the main hall at the show so you’ll be able to watch the bidding action, if you want to bid on one of the machines you’ll need to purchase a £5 catalogue that admits two people into the bidding area.
