Snetterton date switches to avoid TT clash

British superbike bosses have bowed to pressure from fans, riders and teams and switched the date of the Snetterton round to June 3 to avoid a clash with the Isle of Man Formula One TT.

BSB boss Jos Foulston said: ” We were keen to run this meeting normally but we’ve switched it so that race day is on the Queen’s Golden Jubilee bank holiday to make life easier for those who want to attend both the TT and our race at Snetterton.

Superbike competitors will now only miss the three-hour free practice session on the Saturday but will still be able to compete in Sunday’s qualifying and the race. I’m sure that we will still be able to promote our meeting as normal. ”
