British superstock champion Paul Young is starting a supporters club for his 2002 British superbike campaign.

For £299, fans get a range of racing-related benefits including paddock passes, team clothing and behind-the-scenes access to the team at race meetings. There will also be a number of benefits aimed at sports bike riders, including track days and advice on setting up bikes.

Australian Young said: ” My main sponsor, South Essex Motorcycles, is trying to increase interest in racing from its customers. This will give them a chance to be part of the team. ”

Young gave his British superbike GSX-R1000 a shakedown at a three-day Pirelli test at the Valencia circuit in Spain last week.

” It went well. The bike is by no means at full superbike-spec yet but we were able to try a lot of tyres and test the Penske suspension we’ll be using next year. ”

If you want to join his club, call South Essex Motorcycles on 01375-375653.
