Monday TT winners

John McGuinness has won the Lightweight TT and Chris Palmer has taken the Ultra Lightweight TT after low cloud delayed the start by two hours.

McGuinness won the 400cc race on June 7, 2004, for the second successive time at a record race average speed of 110.28mph. He won the race by 33.2 seconds over second placed man Steve Linsdell with Mark Parrett third a further 2.8 seconds back.

Ian Lougher was leading the 125cc race but a technical fault handed control to Chris Palmer who won the race by 57.9 seconds from Robert Dunlop in second and Nigel Beattie in third.

The Production 1000 TT was stopped due to poor visibility and rescheduled for 12 noon Tuesday, June 8.
