Stewart wins again

James Stewart has continued his dominant form in World Supercross with a second win from two rounds.

Stewart again triumphed over off-road legend Ricky Carmichael at the B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver on Saturday, December 10, 2005. The young Kawasaki star snuck past early leader Kyle Lewis on the first lap to set a succession of quick lap times.

Carmichael, meanwhile, was recovering from first lap traffic and became involved in a battle with Yamaha’s Chad Reed. Eventually the reigning champion was able to pull into a clear second place, but was unable to catch Stewart.

Stewart slowed towards the end to take the chequered flag by four seconds from Suzuki-mounted Carmichael. Reed took third almost 30 seconds behind, and it was another 30 seconds back to the rest of the field, with everyone up to fifth position becoming lapped by the leader.

The next round will be the opening round of the AMA Supercross Series on January 7, 2006, at Anaheim in California.
