Ricky Carmichael has increased his AMA Supercross championship lead with a fifth consecutive win.

The Suzuki rider now has a 32-point lead after the win in Indianapolis, winning his heats and the main final with ease. Despite rival and reigning champion Chad Reed taking the holeshot from the start of the final, Carmichael dominated from the second turn and went on to lead for the remaining 19 laps.

“I felt confident and knew what I needed to do to win the main event,” said Carmichael. “I rode a solid race and had some solid lines and the Suzuki was really good through the whoops. I was able to stretch out the lead and I just did the best I could do.”

Carmichael now leads the championship by 32 points from Chard Reed, with Kevin WIndham third and Mike Larocco fourth. Suzuki team-mate Sebastien Tortelli finished the race in seventh while in the 125cc event, Davi Millsaps took a first win for the Suzuki team.
