Snow joy for GSE

GSE Racing’s test plans have been set back yet again by surprise Spanish weather conditions.

The British Superbike team had one test ruined by –4C temperatures in Almeria last week. Their test at the Guadix circuit in southern Spain on Sunday-Tuesday this week fared little better.

Snow blocked surrounding roads and the circuit was unfit for testing for two out of the four days.

Riders Leon Haslam and James Haydon were only able to get in around 100 laps in total.

Haslam said: “I’m very comfortable with the Ducati 999F04 and am confident that we will be completely ready come Brands Hatch on March 28. We’ve tried various settings and will be looking to fine tune things in the next six weeks – when the weather is finally kind to us!“

Haydon admitted Spain had been frustrating but added: “The team are working well and we have plenty of time to develop further before the opening race.”

The team will be back in Spain for more tests next month.
