Aussie set for TT debut

Cameron Donald, the Australian two-time Macau GP winner, will make his TT debut in June in both Supersports and the Senior races aboard a Honda CBR.

The 27-year-old has finished on the podium at each of his four starts at Macau, and has also won an Australian Superbike round as privateer, as well as scoring points in the British Superbike Privateer’s Cup in 2004.

Donald spent time at the Ise of Man during last year’s TT, and will return in early May to spend time learning the circuit.

“I lapped the Mountain Circuit over and over last June in a car and knew straight away that i wanted to race at the TT,” said Donald. “I didn’t think I would get the chance though, coming from Australia, as the logistics are so hard to overcome, so I must say how thankful I am that Mick Charnock and the TT organisers have made so much effort to give me the chance to race this year.”

Other top riders making their TT debut in 2005 include Markus Barth, Les Shand, Gus Scott and Paul Shoesmith.
