Rickardsson returns

Five-times world speedway champ Tony Rickardsson is back in British Speedway after his surprise decision to quit last year.

Arena Essex Hammers have signed him as a replacement for their injured no1, Mark Loram, ahead of the first Elite League fixture of the season, against champions Poole Pirates, tonight (March 22, 2005)

Rickardsson is in for a month’s loan, but must miss Tuesday night’s fixture due to a three-day registration window required for the Elite League.

David Norris, wild-card star of last season’s British Grand Prix, is the temporary replacement on-loan from Eastbourne.
