Byrne confirms for BSB

Shane Byrne has been officially confirmed to return to British Superbikes in 2006 for the Rizla Suzuki team.

‘Shakey’ Byrne, 28, won the BSB championship in 2003, before racing in MotoGP for two years. He’ll return to partner James Haydon on the Suzuki GSX-R1000s.

“I had options in WSB, MotoGP and BSB and I chose Rizla Suzuki,” said Byrne. “I’m all done with not winning and having no fun. I want to be at the front again – something that’s not happened much in MotoGP”

Byrne will have his first test with the team in Spain in December.
