James Haydon is holding on to his Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 ride in the British Superbike Championship for 2006.

Haydon joined the team mid-way through the 2005 season and, says the team, played a key role in developing the GSX-R1000 race bike. He will put that experience to use during an extensive winter testing programme.

He said: “I am thrilled and excited to be staying with Rizla Suzuki. To know that I will be racing on the best bike with the support of the best team behind me is a dream come true.

Haydon scored his best result of the 2005 season at the final round of the Championship at Brands Hatch with a pole position and third place podium finish.

A further announcement on a second rider to join James at Rizla Suzuki will be made soon.

The 2006 British Superbike season starts at Brands Hatch in Kent in March.
