Plater crams in the races

Steve Plater will be racing in two separate championships this weekend at Thruxton.

Plater has yet to start a race for the Dienza Kawasaki team he signed for at the beginning of the year and will now switch to the JJL/UK Diggers run Fireblade for Thruxton.

But he has also been drafted in to replace the injured Chris Burns on the Aim Yamaha R6 in the British Supersport championship.

“I tested for the JJL team in Spain during the winter and soon realised their professionalism and dedication towards becoming a household name in the highly competitive British Superbike Championship. I can’t wait to turn my season around, I’m just dead eager to get some racing in.”

Commenting on riding supersport as well he said: “Supersport is where I learnt my trade winning many races before moving up to Superbike. I’m really looking forward to riding the new R6 for the AIM Team and hope we can enjoy the taste of champagne together.”
