Toseland: I need music

1 of 1

World Superbike star James Toseland has started ‘blogging’ about his life as a top racer for the Ten Kate Honda squad, and he’s kindly said he’d share it with you all…

Wednesday July 26, 2006:

One minute I’m racing at 100-200 mph and the next minute I’m tapping my fingers on the table at an airport waiting for a plane. I got back really late on Monday night, made some midnight calls to catch up on stuff that’s been going on whilst I’ve been gone.

Yesterday (Tuesday) I rehearsed with the boys but to be honest I was overtired. We did our thing and it was ace! We jammed some crazy stuff! Kelly had booked us into the rehearsal rooms for a whopping 8 hours and that makes her a mean taskmaster but we got to run through everything that we’d been working on over the past month.

D-day as in Doomsday is July 31st, I’ll be much clearer on August 1st but I’m so excited about cracking on with the off-track album. And obviously, this whole blog thing is dead exciting because I’m learning new stuff everyday. I got my first email yesterday! Yay! But I can’t seem to get any reception from Wi-Fi no matter how hard I try.

I’m going to do a bit on my nan’s piano now. Racing aside, music is mega important to me and I really avoid being away from it. It’s the one place I can go and access every memory, every event, every race, anytime.

All of this working with the boys on the album has taken me to even more places and I’m really looking forward to experimenting with my own sound soon.
