Fantasy game month 3

1 of 1

Game Month 3 of Fantasy Road Race 2006 came to an end with MotoGP action from Italy and Bennetts British Superbike races from Mallory Park.

Valentino Rossi performed like his old self in taking victory at his home track in Mugello after a titanic tussle with fellow Italian Loris Capirossi. Having overtaken pole-sitter Sete Gibernau on the opening lap, Rossi went on to claim the 25 Road Race points for victory to add to the three points gained for third position in qualifying. Capirossi and Nicky Hayden trailed Rossi home for second and third place respectively.

At Mallory Park, the two races produced similar podiums – featuring the same riders, but with slightly different finishing orders. Having grabbed pole on Saturday, Gregorio Lavilla kept up his outstanding record of a podium position in every race this year by finishing third in the opener, and then crossed the line in first in Sunday’s second race for a total of 46 Road Race points – the highest points tally of any rider this weekend.

Ryuichi Kiyonari and Leon Haslam were the other two riders familiar with the podium during Sunday’s racing. Haslam finished second in both races for a weekend total of 44 Road Race points, one point more than Kiyonari who was the race winner in the opener before being blocked by back-markers in the second race to come home in third.

Don’t forget that you can now make up to three team changes to your team in preparation for Game Month 4. The window opened on Monday at 00:00 BST, and will close again at 00:00 BST on Saturday, 10th June.
