Scott Redding wins in Valencia

New MotoGP 125 signing Scott Redding followed up his Albacete successes with a commanding win in Valencia in the Spanish National Championship.

The 14-year-old from Gloucestershire showed was he is capable of on the BQR team Blusens-Aprilia to claim pole position for the race in low temperatures at the Ricardo Tormo Grand Prix Circuit.

Although beaten in to the first corner by several riders at the start of the race, Scott Redding found his way back to the front by the end of lap one.

From here Redding began to pull away to create a 12 second lead.

The rest of the field managed to claw back some of the gap, but Scott Redding still managed to win by a clear 9.8 seconds.

Scott Redding said: “I pushed really hard from the start and then everything seemed to go just right and apart from the windy conditions during the race, and the first right hander seeming to be extra slippery for some reason, I had no problems.   

“The team had the bike running really well.”
