Isle of Man TT: John McGuinness to race for Padgetts Honda

1 of 1

John McGuinness will race a Padgetts Honda Fireblade in the Superbike and Senior TTs this year.

Honda Racing in Louth, the same team running the HM Plant Honda for Leon Haslam and Cal Crutchlow, is building the HRC-kitted bike and will provide technicians to look after the bike in the Island.

Honda Racing announced last year they would not officially be supporting the Isle of Man TT but this deals ends speculation that McGuinness may switch to Yamaha.

John McGuiness said: “This deal is every bit as good as last year. The bike will be good and we’re trying to keep consistency of my TT team by having the Louth boys look after the bike too.

“I know what they can do and they know what I want.”

John McGuinness will also race a Padgetts Honda CBR600 in the Supersport class, as well as British Supersport and will have Steve Brogan’s National Superstock Honda Fireblade for the Superstock TT.

McGuinness had already announced last month he will race one of the official HM Plant Honda British Superbike motorcycles at the North West 200.

See this week’s MCN (February 20, 2008) for more reaction from John McGuinness.
