Moto GP Speed Limiters

What with the delays caused by the speed traps on the roads leading to the circuit and the que of bikes trying to avoid the vehicle licence checks, we thought it slightly amusing that the Donington organisers had put a speed sign of 60 onto the very sharp bend before the pit lane.

A number of issues arose with the signage, namely:- The Brits stuck to 60 MPH and were much quicker into the pit lane The continentals stuck to 60 KPH and were visibly cautious (positively teetering) Those with a low IQ were easy to spot as they disregarded the speed (thinking it was a minimum to be achieved) resulting in scuffed leathers on the bits they don’t normally scuff, as they glanced the perimeter wall.

The people in VIP found it confusing as they thought it related to the number of drinks that had to be consumed before the end of the Moto GP. The attached pictures show Chris Vermuelen and Jorge Lorenzo checking out the signage. We hope to escape from Donington some time this week so that we can rush home change underwear and commence the journey back to the next Moto GP Donington event. It’s a tough life being a spectator but someone has to do it.
