Norasport Gimoto National 450 Championship

As with Round Seven at Three Sisters this weekends racing would miss the extremes of weather again. Although Saturday was windy the track conditions stayed dry for racing. Rain throughout the night left the track wet for practice but the sun was soon out and the track dry for Sundays racing, in pleasant autumn sunshine.

This was the penultimate round of the Gimoto National Supermoto Championship and points were at stake for the run up to the close of the season. Some places would be settled this weekend, and some would be taken to the final round at Cadwell Park. 450 National Championships James Addy would need as many points as possible to secure his hopes of retaining the 450 championship title for 2008.

Andy Mitchell who was only twenty points adrift would be the rider most likely to reclaim the winning spot, and he too would be determined to grab any points available. In both the first and second races Andy Mitchell went out the front, but was demoted to second place in both of these races in the final lap of the race by James Addy. In the third race of the day James Addy was in the lead from the start, and although Andy was close throughout, he could not move in on James and he would then extend his lead by a further six points.

Richard Sharp had a really good day with three third place finishes, and Lee Rudd finished with two fourths and a fifth place finish: similarly Ben Kirkman would benefit with points from very consistent finishes of two sixth places and a seventh place. After a full winning card today, James could now concentrate on the Open Championship which would be much more closely contended at the top.

Final Race Results 450A Class 1. James Addy 2. Andy Mitchell 3. Richard Sharp 4. Lee Rudd 5. Graeme Norris
