Aprilia rider Christian Iddon is the 2008 British Supermoto Champion after four wins from four starts at the Manchester City Stadium – the penultimate round of the championship on 27 September.

The title is his ninth British title (Eight supermoto titles and one motocross title), despite missing a round with a broken wrist.

Iddon said: “It’s great to be British Champion again and this one was a difficult one. I missed a round due to breaking my wrist and then rode the following two rounds with it still in plaster because there was always hope I could still retain the title and thankfully it paid off.

“I’m looking forward to the final round at Bishopscourt (26th Oct) and can’t wait for the final round of the Worlds in Greece (19th Oct)”

As well as taking the British Championship, Iddon also made his return to the World Supermoto Championship at the Italian GP on October 5 with a fourth and second place.

Iddon is now seventh in the World Championship despite missing two rounds.

The final round of the British Supermoto Championship will be held at Bishopscourt, Norhtern Ireland on October 26.
