Michael McKenzie dies in Donington Park crash

Thundersport GB rider Michael McKenzie has lost his life following a crash during the Stocktwins class race at this weekend’s event at Donington Park.

Speaking in a statement released by the organisers, race director Dave Stewart, commented: “It is with great regret that I must confirm reports of the passing of Michael McKenzie after an accident at Donington Park on Sunday 12th April.

“The incident occurred at the Craner Curves section on the 8th lap of the Stock Twins race, shortly before midday. Immediate trackside assistance was implemented from the specialist trauma team and Michael was transferred to Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. Sadly Michael succumbed to his injuries late in the afternoon of Sunday.”
