Lavilla survives Honda onslaught in race two

1 of 1

Gregorio Lavilla took his second double victory from two rounds of the British Superbike championship, despite a last lap onslaught from four Hondas.

The race was red-flagged around lap 11, with Lavilla leading away as the pace car retruend to the pits, getting the hump on the rest of the field. But in the closing stages the Hondas of Ryuichi Kiyonari, Shane Byrne, Jonathan Rea and Leon Camier were closing by around 0.5 seconds a lap, following some tough infighting. Lavilla’s win came down to his defense of the racing line at the final chicane, blocking Kiyonari with his knee.

Chris Walker failed to finish due to an engine failure, along with Rizla team-mate Cal Crutchlow.
