Lavilla claims race one at Oulton Park

1 of 1

Gregorio Lavilla was back to winning ways in race one at Oulton Park this afternoon (Monday, May 7, 2007).

The Spaniard, who won the first four races of the season, diced with teammate Leon Haslam during the later stages of the race but claimed the victory. And there were more reasons to celebrate with an Airwaves Ducati one-two with Lavilla finishing just two 10ths of a second ahead of Haslam.

Rounding off the podium was double Silverstone winner, Ryuichi Kiyonari, who also finished within the same second of the top two.

Kiyonari took an early lead, but Lavilla had other ideas and retook his starting position by lap five.

The surprise rider of the weekend has been Tom Sykes who backed up his impressive front row start with a fifth.

Despite the weather clearing up for a dry race both Chris Martin and Tom Tunstall were fallers on laps eight and 15 respectively.
