Haydon expects to be back for Mondello

James Haydon insists he’s expecting to be back in the saddle of the Virgin Yamaha at Mondello Park on June 17, 2007.

Haydon struggled to adapt to the Pirelli-shod Yamaha in the first three BSB rounds of the year with just one 15th-place point in six races.

But then he missed last week’s Oulton Park race due to an alleged shoulder injury sustained in a mountain bike crash.

His place at Oulton was taken by Hudson Kennaugh. It was the 26-year-old South African’s first race meeting on the bike and he finished 16th and 17th in the two races – a similar performance to Haydon’s in previous races.

Haydon said: “It’s disappointing to be out for two races but I’m fully expecting to be back and I’ve already talked with Rob (McElnea – Virgin team boss) about testing straight after Snetterton.”

See more about Virgin Yamaha’s in this week’s MCN, out Wednesday, May 9, 2007.
