Knockhill British Superbikes: BSB to pay tribute to Craig Jones

1 of 1

British Superbike Series Director Stuart Higgs has released this official statement today concerning a tribute to Craig Jones.

‘Like all within the BSB community we are deeply saddened at the loss of Craig Jones following his accident last weekend.

The British Championships formed a large part of Craig’s career and I know he kept a keen interest in them as we did with his World Championship exploits.

Craig will perhaps be best remembered by his two years on the distinctive yellow Valmoto Triumph and who can forget “that” race at Donington in 2004 when Craig enthralled us all by taking a spectacular win on the last day of the season on the last outing for the team and bike.

As a tribute to Craig, we will organise the following events on Sunday.

During the interval, at appx. 11.00am, the 2004 Valmoto Triumph bearing the distinctive #18 will be paraded by one lap of the Knockhill circuit by poignantly his Scottish team mate of that year Jim Moodie.

Craig’s closest friends within BSB will follow and the BSB community and fans are asked to give applause at this time.

The 2004 British Supersport Championship final race from Donington will be shown on the “big screen” during the Pit Walk and Interval period.’
