GSE Racing, arguably the most successful team in the modern era of the British Superbike Championship, will continue to be sponsored by chewing gum brand Airwaves in 2009, continuing an association that began in 2005.

GSE team manager Colin Wright, said: “I am extremely pleased that Wrigley’s Airwaves will continue to support GSE Racing as we compete for a record fifth British Superbike championship.

“Next season will mark the start of an exciting new era for the team and one which would not be possible without the support of sponsors such as Airwaves.”

GSE has severed an 11-year association with Ducati to run a factory Yamaha assault on the BSB title in 2009.

Wrigley’s marketing director Toby Baker added: “Airwaves has had four fantastic years as title sponsor of GSE Racing and we’re looking forward to continuing our association as Airwaves Yamaha in 2009.

“With two talented riders in Leon Camier and James Ellison, Airwaves Yamaha is sure to provide more superb racing.”

The GSE squad also has a new headquarters: it has moved into the workshop formerly owned by the Petronas World Superbike team in Burton upon Trent, Staffs.

The team’s new website address is www.airwaves-yamaha.co.uk. The full site will be launched in the New Year.
