British Superbikes Almeria test: Injury not holding Leon Camier back in Almeria

Despite still suffering from the injuries he sustained back in August at Cadwell Park, Airwaves Ducati debutant Leon Camier is holding his own at Almeria in the team’s first test of the year.

Leon Camier told MCN: “The leg is not too bad when you’re on the bike.

“Changing gear coming out of a left-hand corner is difficult because the bike is pulling you and you’re trying to pull yourself on to the bike.

“It doesn’t help that I’ve got long legs anyway which makes it cramped.”

But even while carrying the injuries Leon Camier managed an unofficial first day best time of 1:39.8.

And Camier said his recovery has had a lot to do with his training over winter.

I spent time out in Oz with Casey Stoner and his trainer and his training was very similar to what I was doing anyway.

“I went out for the first time recently on a motocross bike and after two laps my arms were pumping, just because I was lacking riding fitness.

“The next time I went out my arms were much better so I hope the same will happen with my leg.”
