British Superbikes: Shane Byrne getting his head around traction control

1 of 1

Although he was running consistently at the front of the field in testing at Almeria for the full three days, Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne is still getting used to the Ducati’s traction control.

The official Pirelli test was the 2003 British Superbike champion’s first return to Ducati for four years making it his first opportunity to customise with the new traction control.

When asked about how he’s found the traction control he told MCN: “That’s a difficult question to answer.

“It’s a difficult question to answer because it almost works in a way that you don’t even know it’s there.

“There’s not so much popping and banging as there was last year – it works in a totally different way, so much so that you don’t even know if it’s on or not.

“We wouldn’t be doing the lap times we are doing for the amount of time we are doing them so I think everything bike wise is very positive.”
