Brands Hatch British Superbikes: Leon Haslam leads the way in Free Practice 1

HM Plant Honda’s Leon Haslam topped the first free practice session at Brands Hatch this morning, clocking a best time of 46.274.
 
Setting the pace with only two minutes left in the session, Haslam’s rivals were unable to respond.
 
Rob Mac Yamaha’s Karl Harris came closest to Haslam with a 46.457 that he set in the early stages of the session.
 
Harris was followed closely home by newly crowned champion, Shane Byrne who clocked a 46.492.
 
Haslam’s departing team-mate Cal Crutchlow came in fourth with a time of 46.652 narrowly pipping Airwaves’ Leon Camier to the post.
 
Camier was followed home by Rizla Suzuki’s Tom Sykes, NW200’s Michael Rutter and Hydrex Honda’s James Ellison in sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.
