Brands Hatch British Superbikes: Michael Laverty demanding more grip

1 of 1

Relentless Suzuki’s Michael Laverty managed to set the seventh fastest time of this afternoon’s qualifying session but has said he needs more rear grip through Clearways to be able to compete in tomorrow’s races.

Laverty set a best time of 46.513 in the final period of qualifying, enough for the second row of the grid.

He said: “I need a better overall lap and the main problem is Clearways.

“I followed Shakey through there a couple of times and couldn’t believe how much grip he had!

“All the way round Clearways I’m having to fight the bike, but into Paddock and Druid I feel like I’m one of the fastest.

“We’ll have to come up with a resolution to get the bike firing through and out of Clearways better ready for tomorrow.”
