Title-wining Triumph team to continue

Last year’s British Supersport title-winning team are aiming to continue racing despite having lost their title sponsor Embassy Racing before the end of last season.

Title-winner Glen Richards has since signed for the HM Plant Honda British Superbike team but John Trigger, the man who tuned and prepared the Triumphs last year and Richards’ title-winning superstock Yamaha the previous year, says that Aussie Paul Young will race one of the triples again in British Supersport.

Trigger said: “We’re chasing sponsorship but it’s not looking promising. But Triumph are behind us, and myself and Youngy are still trying to make it happen.

“Whatever happens, even if we don’t find a big backer, I expect Youngy will be out there under his Paul Young Racing banner.”

Young did a lot of the development on the triples, running under his own PYR banner before joining Richards last year in the Embassy team and continued to work with Trigger to transform the British bike into a title winner.
