Tommy Hill retains Worx Suzuki for Brands

Tommy Hill gets to race the Worx Suzuki in the Brands Hatch triple header BSB round on August 9.

Hill made a big impression on the team with his efforts at Mallory Park last weekend, running quickest in the first day of practice and then qualifying second.

He was well placed in the leading group  for the first race until Josh Brookes crash with Simon Andrews triggered a seven bikes crash which involved Hill.

In the seconds race, run in wet conditions,  Hill finished eighth, having had little chance to perfect a wet set-up.

Team boss, Jack Valentine said: “Mallory was clearly a very disappointing round thanks to the actions of another rider, but Tommy impressed us hugely.

“While clearly very fast, Tommy is also very professional and gave the whole team the same feeling we had before Sylvain was unfortunately injured.

“For these reasons we are delighted to confirm that Tommy will be back with us for the next round of the series at Brands Hatch.”

Hill added: “I was obviously disappointed not to turn our good pace at Mallory into a pair of good results. I was instantly very impressed by the Suzuki and of course riding with a team that has such a great pedigree in BSB gives me the best possible chance of success.

“Brands Hatch is my home circuit, so I’m very happy to be back on the bike for this round and feeling very confident now I’ve had some time on the bike now too.”
