Harris on Node 4 Yamaha at Croft

One door shuts, another opens. Karl Harris was sacked last week by Hydrex Honda. Now he’s been given a reprieve by his former team boss Rob McElnea and will ride the Node 4 Yamaha at Croft this weekend.

Harris endured a turbulent 2008 season with McElnea’s team – with a series of crashes (not all his fault) blunting his season. Now he’s back riding for them this weekend. McElnea said: “We’ve recently done a deal to get Node 4 on board (to replace NW200) and with Jon Kirkham not fit, we needed to get someone on board to try and do a good job for them.

“We know Karl’s going to be really fired up to prove a point to his former team boss and that will help us too.”

McElnea’s other injured rider, Graeme Gowland is expected to be back at Croft after breaking his toe at Cadwell. Gowland was looking impressively quick through the weekend, running top six in each session but then crashed in qualifying and was forced to miss the races.
