Leon Camier set the fastest time in this morning’s first free practice session at Croft ahead of Sunday’s 10th round of the MCE British Superbike Championship.
The Airwaves Yamaha rider set a time of 1:21.151s, three tenths quicker than second fastest man Stuart Easton.

The sensation of the session was Easton’s new Hydrex Honda team-mate Tommy Hill who posted third quickest time, only six tenths slower than Camier despite having several set-up issues to overcome. BSB Cup competitor Gary Mason was fourth overall on the Quay Garage Honda.

Josh Brookes was fifth on thr HM plant Honda – his first time back since his two-event ban and his first time on a race bike at the circuit. This weekend, he and stand-in team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari have two bikes each to speed set-up on the bumpy course, the team having rebuilt the engines of bikes that John McGuinness and Steve Plater raced at the TT.

Kiyo was tenth quickest – his first time at Croft since 2007 when he won both races.
Karl Harris was 19th quickest first time out on the Node 4 Yamaha with a best lap of 1:23.375. Sylvain Guintoli was 20th on the Worx Suzuki with a 1:23.655 in his first visit to Croft.
