Cadwell Park BSB: Tommy Hill takes race two win

1 of 1

Swan Yamaha rider Tommy Hill has won the second of three races at Cadwell Park today.

Hill was fastest away from the lights, and depsite a couple of early overtakes by team-mate and race one winner Michael Laverty, was able to dominate the race, opening up a gap of 1.700secs by the end of the race.

Laverty finished second ahead of HM Plant Honda rider Shane Byrne in third who looked determined to take second spot, but was unable to pass Laverty who has been in great form all weekend.

Relentless by TAS Suzuki rider Josh Brookes – who was disqualified from yesterday’s race after overtaking Michael Rutter and forcing the Ducati rider to crash – was unable to show the same pace as yesterday and had to settle for fourth spot.

Rutter started the race, but after suffering broken ribs from yesterday’s incident retired after the first lap.

Tyco Honda’s Peter Hickman continued his impressive weekend finishing in fifth behind Brookes.

Reigning champion Ryuichi Kiyonari started the race from 16th position, but managed to work his way up to ninth over the 18 lap race, securing himself a much better starting position for the final race of the weekend.
