Oulton Park BSB: Sunday Race One, Hill Victorious

1 of 1

Tommy Hill successfully made it two wins from two at Oulton Park on Sunday when he dominated the second British Superbike Championship race of the weekend. Leading from start to finish, the Swan Yamaha rider was again in imperious form and simply left his rivals trailing in his wake, eventually crossing the line over three seconds clear.

Team-mate Noriyuki Haga occupied second place for the early part of the race before being overhauled by Josh Brookes and although the latter named tried to take the challenge to Hill, he simply had no answer to the flying Englishman and had to settle for another second place.

In a repeat of Saturday’s race, Shane Byrne took third after a late charge saw him get the better of both Haga and Michael Laverty, the Japanese rider also being pushed back to fifth by the Honda of Laverty. Further back a good four way dice for sixth went the way of Ian Lowry with Tommy Bridewell, Alastair Seeley and Alex Lowes following him over the line in quick succession.

1 Tommy Hill (Swan Yamaha)
2 Josh Brookes (Tyco Suzuki) +3.383s
3 Shane Byrne (Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki) +6.141s
4 Michael Laverty (Samsung Honda) +6.262s
5 Noriyuki Haga (Swan Yamaha) +6.552s
6 Ian Lowry (Padgetts Honda) +11.761s
