MCN’s top ten BSB riders: 3rd

1 of 1

With all the dust settled on yet another highly competitive year in the MCE British Superbike championship, MCN have taken the opportunity to look back on the season and sort our top ten riders – based on more than just race results!

3rd: Tommy Bridewell

  • Championship position: 3rd
  • Wins: 1
  • Podiums: 6

Of the things you’d never have bet on at the start of 2014, a remarkably consistent run of form from Tommy Bridewell probably wasn’t one of them. Known in the past as a fast but sometimes unpredictable rider, he turned that around this season with an impressive year.

Always keen to prove he was no mere number two rider to Josh Brookes at Milwaukee Yamaha, he rode a steady year, taking numerous podiums and his first ever BSB win as he proved he could, on a good day, stick with the front runners.

That speed and consistency were rewarded at the final round at Brands Hatch, where he finally proved his place in the team by taking third place off Brookes.

2015 is an even bigger year for him, as he switches from Yamaha to BMW machinery with the Tyco squad. He’ll bring some consistency to the squad, having past experience with the German machinery, and will no doubt be looking to go one better than 2014.
