Kiyonari and Bridewell link up with Bennetts Suzuki

Ryuichi Kiyonari will ride a Bennetts Suzuki in next year’s MCE British Superbike championship, as the Japanese rider looks to return to 2014 form after a disastrous 2015 season. He’ll be partnered by Tommy Bridewell, who returns to Martin Halsall’s squad hungry for yet more race wins.

And, with a new challenge and the promise of a new machine waiting in the wings, Kiyo sounds as fired up as he’s been for a very long time.

“This is a new challenge for me – a new team, a different bike and I think this is what I needed for next year. The Suzuki is a really good package and the bike has similar characteristics to what I have raced with other manufactures in the past. I know it won’t be easy because it never is, but the team is strong and we want to be on the podium and win races.”

Bridewell, meanwhile, will be reunited with the team that he took to their first ever BSB podium in the closing stages of 2013 – and shares his new teammate’s ambition to put a disappointing 2015 behind him and return to past form.

“I’ve joined this team because I feel like they give me the most excitement and they are really motivated for the new season. I didn’t have the best time last season but now I’m chomping at the bit to get started on 2016!
