Lee Jackson to remain with Buildbase BMW

Fresh from his best ever MCE British Superbike result ever, finishing yesterday’s opening race in an impressive fifth place, Lee Jackson will remain with the Buildbase BMW for the 2016 season.

Lincoln rider Jackson has been something of a protégé of the Hawk Racing squad, riding for them to third in the national Superstock 1000 series last year as well as making a number of impressive wildcard performances for the injured James Westmoreland,

Since stepping up to the BSB class full-time for 2015, Jackson has made solid but successful progress this year, scoring a number of top ten finishes en route to his personal best of fifth yesterday.

“I’m really happy to be staying with Buildbase BMW next year. We’ve got a great team here with an awesome package with the BMW S1000RR. We’ve had a good year, but as a rider I’m always looking for better results and I feel that next year, with a season under my belt, we can push on further towards the top six!”
Team boss Steve Hicken, who has yet to confirm a second rider for the squad, is equally pleased to be retaining the services of the youngster.

“Considering he only turned 20 a couple of weeks ago, Lee has had a brilliant season this year. He’s one of the youngest riders on the grid and has shown himself to be a top ten challenger and even been fighting for top six positions this year. He’s developed a lot as a rider throughout the year, found some consistency and each weekend he takes another step forward.
“It’s great that we’ve secured him for a fourth consecutive season next year, as I’m really confident in his potential for the future.”
