BSB: Local lad Jackson quick at Cadwell

Lee Jackson’s run of good form continued as the eighth round of the MCE British Superbike Championship got underway at Cadwell Park today.

The local lad set the third fastest time in the morning’s first practice session despite an engine blow out towards the end of the session, before going on to remain comfortably inside the top six after the afternoon’s second practice and is confident he could have gone even faster had it not been for another mechanical problem towards the end.

“Today’s been really good,” he told MCN at the track. “I was really happy with the first session as we went faster than we did at the test which I was quite surprised with, but with an engine blowing up at the end it was a bit of a disappointment not to finish the session. We put a new engine in for session two and it was working really well, I went faster again and jumped up to session but we had a bit of a technical issue towards the end of the session as the engine was leaking oil.”

“Tomorrow I want to do a 1’26 lap! I was looking at the timesheets and there are a couple of sectors where I could find 0.1 secs that’ll do, we’re a little down in sectors two and three so that’s what we need to work on.

“I had a fifth and a sixth at Brands making it my best ever weekend in BSB and this is my home round, which adds a bit of pressure but we need to forget about that and push towards the podium.”
